Question for the Religious

If there was no 'afterlife', would you still do right?

Do you base your good deeds on the repercussions of a hell?

  2. If there wasn’t a hell, I would question everything. After all, people always preach that one should behave this way or go to hell. If you lie, you’re going to hell. If you’re shackin’, you’re going to hell. If you have sex before marriage, you’re going to hell. Really?

Sometimes I think that the idea of hell serves more of a “scared straight” purpose. Instead of people saying you shouldn’t lie because people won’t trust you, they say liars don’t go to heaven.

IDK. This is a deeeeeeeep topic

  3. This could be a question for the spiritual as well so I'll answer it simply. I believe that heaven and hell is a realm not an actual place, despite what I've been taught. I do believe in an afterlife but I also believe you can experience both in the true forms in one lifetime.

  4. I was thinking about this the other day. I still think I would be a good person, actually think I would be the same. There's nothing that I want to do that but fear of hell is holding me back. When I do certain things that don't necessarily please God, I don't think I'll go to hell for them.
